Veg Pizza

I always thought that making a pizza from scratch was the hardest thing to do. Right from kneading the dough correctly, to preparing the sauce to grilling it for the right amount of time. I always thought of it as a huge task. But my maiden experience made me to realise how easy it was and how wrong I have been all these years. I assure you that my tried and tested recipe is surely going to be liked by all of you. So go ahead and make this veggie cheesy pizza.


Pizza Dough

  1. 750g all purpose flour
  2. 1/4 tsp salt
  3. 1/4 tsp sugar
  4. 4 tsps dry active yeast
  5. 250ml lukewarm water

Pizza Sauce

  1. 3 ripe medium sized tomatoes
  2. 3 tsps chopped garlic
  3. 1 tsp oregano
  4. 1 tsp ground pepper
  5. 1 tsp dried parsely
  6. 1/4 tsp salt
  7. 1/4 tsp sugar
  8. 2 tbsp olive oil/or any other oil

Pizza toppings

  1. 2 chopped bell peppers
  2. 1 cup sweet corn
  3. 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  4. 1 cup sliced veg sausages
  5. 2 cups shredded mozarella cheese

  1. For making the pizza dough

    Melt sugar in warm water and the active dry yeast. Wait for 10 mins until the solution gets frothy. If the solution fails to get frothy that means the yeast is dead.

  2. Mix about 1 cup flour, salt and olive together.

  3. Add in the yeast water solution to it and start kneading the dough, slowly add the remaining flour to the dough and knead until the mixture is soft and bouncy. Cover with a loose cloth and leave unattended for about 2 hrs. Use a large bowl as the dough will rise.

  4. When the dough rises it looks like this.( I was very curious to check the dough before hand so i have punctured the other end of the dough.)

  5. Dust some flour on your kitchen table and roll out small portions of the dough to make flat bread.

  6. Chopping all the Veggies

    Dice the vegetables roughly and keep ready

  7. For making the Sauce

    Add chopped garlics and tomato puree to olive oil and bring to a boil

  8. Also add in the rest of the ingredients under sauce to pot and continue boiling. After about 10-15 mins your sauce will be ready

  9. Your sauce may look like this

  10. Making the pizza

    Grease your baking tray with little bit of oil and place the bread in it and Spread the sauce on the flat bread.

  11. Arrange all the vegetables on the top

  12. Add some grated cheese

  13. And grill the pizza in a pre-heated oven (220°) for about 12-13mins

  14. Your Pizza is ready!
